The picture above is my platoon when I was in the Katusa Training Academy.
It is two years ago!!! Time flies so fast.
KATUSA stands for 'Korean Army Augmented to the United States Army'.
I heard that the word 'augmentation' has kind of negative shade of meaning. (It is true?.?)
Anyway, Katusa is Korea Army which works together with US Army.
It is a kind of a symbol of the alliance between Korea and USA.
We work just like US soldiers, basically from 0900 ~ 1700.(I learned this four digits notation of hour in Army:)
An interesting thing is that Katusas are under control of both US army and Korea army, so I used to get in trouble because of this situation, but sometimes I used to take advantage of it. ;) Oh, I am saying that I was a shammer. hahaha :)
I met many good friends in the Army.
Although they are all gone to the states, I will meet them again in the near future.
In retrospect, I had good time serving in Katusa, meeting various kinds of people, feeling American(Army) culture such as slang(?!).

Epic introduction! Life there must've been quite interesting under control of two authorities. I am quite curious as to how everyday life was there, especially parts involving 'taking advantages'.
